Hicks Barbeque in Nortdport

This should not even be called barbeque... Doesn't even seem to have been smoked at all... Might as well microwave some roast and pour some Kraft sauce on it... Major rip off!

Not bad, but I was hoping for better. Neither the pork not the chicken had much of a smoky flavor. The sauce was good but not distinctive. I liked the core slaw. We have probably ten better barbeque places in the Shoals, and if you really want good barbecue you must go to Southeastern North Carolina.

BBQ sauce is very tangy. Too much vinegar.

Food portions have gone down,slaw was dry,tea was sour like it was left the day before, place is nasty and the employees aren't as friendly as they used to be. Dont know why they've let the place go down since the owner died

This place use to be great, it’s so sad but the food has gone down hill, I called in and asked if the “the smoked wings” were fresh? She responded yes they are completely fine. I trusted her got home and it all was a lie. The hardest Wings I’ve ever had in my LIFE, Buying 25 Wings for $23.00 just to throw them in the trash. Called them and she tried to argue with me. I’ll never recommend this place.

This place is outstanding, some of the Best BBQ you will find in Alabama. People talk about Dreamland all the time but Hick's puts them to shame.

The food is great and everyone is nice and efficient.

Our order was not correct , chicken was DRY , some parts beyond eating . Wont be back.

Too much bbq sauce, the pork didnt not taste like it was smoked, potato salad tasted like it was bought from the grocery store. Service was not friendly and the seating area was filthy. Will not go back!

Love, love, LOVE the sauce here. It's similar to Dreamland's sauce, but slightly more tangy, which in my opinion makes it better. Great bbq sandwich- messy and greasy and oozing deliciousness. Generous portions, not too expensive. One of the best, but underrated, bbq joints in the Tuscaloosa area.

I love Hicks Bar b q when I can get it. Been eating there 20 plus years. Now every time I call they’re closed. It’s Wednesday now at 5:51pm and their website says they are open, but they’re not. Don’t get your hopes up about eating at Hicks until you actually find a employee there.
